Long Beach Community

Long Beach is California’s seventh largest city and home to the US’s second largest port. The city blends urban sophistication with the relaxed atmosphere of a beachside community. It is home to world-class attractions like the Long Beach Aquarium 
of the Pacific and the Queen Mary, cutting-edge museums, and a thriving, multi-faceted arts and culture scene. In addition to International trade through the port, high technology has also been an important economic engine for the Long Beach area.

Shopping

Long Beach offers something for everyone when it comes to shopping, 
but especially those in search of extraordinary and hard-to-find vintage wear. Retro Row, a three-block collection of vintage and retro shops, is located on Fourth Street between Cherry and Junipero Avenues.

The funky shopping district is popular with Los Angeles stylists and costume designers as well as young, urban hipsters. Retro Row has become a don’t-miss destination for Long Beach visitors and residents alike and was touted in the New York Times Travel Section as the place 
to find “the soul of Long Beach.”

Commute

Home to some of Los Angeles County’s largest employers, Long Beach is a thriving city of its own. The HIVE is located a short commute from SpaceX, Molina Healthcare, the Port of Long Beach, and many other employers. Plenty of people commute to other parts of LA County, but choose to stay in Long Beach for its mild climate, lively atmosphere, and relaxed, 
beachy lifestyle. The HIVE is within a 30 minute commute of most of Los Angeles and 
Orange county.

Recreation

Long Beach is a thriving beach city, home to the historic Queen Mary, 
Los Cerritos Ranch, El Dorado Park and Long Beach Aquarium.


A few miles north of downtown, the Bixby Knolls neighborhood beckons.



Along Atlantic Avenue and the surrounding area, there are numerous restaurants serving a variety of cuisines, plus a large selection of retail shops. Area attractions include Rancho Los Cerritos, the Richard Goad Theater, and the Long Beach Historical Society Museum.


Head to Shoreline Village for waterfront shopping, dining, and fun, 
all overlooking Long Beach’s gorgeous Rainbow Harbor.


Shoreline Village is located within walking distance from downtown 
Long Beach and the nearby Aquarium of the Pacific. It’s a great place to take in the sunset and admire the views of the Queen Mary docked just 
across the way. Shoreline Village is perfect for a day of family fun. Kids will love riding on the antique carousel, and there are bike and boat rentals available for exploring the coastline.

Day & Night Life

Known to be an exceptionally family-friendly neighborhood, Bixby Knolls has embraced neighborhood events from “First Fridays” to Kidical Mass bike rides & stroller groups. Arguably their most well-known event is “First Fridays,” is a monthly special event along Atlantic Avenue.


Businesses stay open late as thousands of folks stroll between restaurants, shops, and street-side booths while being entertained by live bands 
and entertainers.
